Cards
Breaking News Ticker #
The market’s most important live headlines plus key economic prints the moment they are released. Items rotate in time order, newest first.
Trading Sessions #
Live clocks for the Sydney, Tokyo, London and New York sessions. The London–New York overlap is usually the most volatile window of the day.
Market Status #
Whether Forex and the European and US stock exchanges are open or closed, with a countdown to the next status change.
Economic Calendar #
Economic events with their impact rating, previous value, forecast and actual. The gap between Actual and Forecast is the main driver of price at release time.
Price History #
Hourly closing prices for each asset over ranges from 1 day to 1 year (the yearly range uses one point per day). Weekend gaps are removed.
Currency Strength #
Each major currency’s percent change against the US dollar over the selected range, strongest to weakest. USD-base pairs are inverted so every bar shows that currency’s own strength.
Retail Sentiment #
The share of retail traders long and short in each symbol. Sentiment is often a contrarian signal: a heavy crowd on one side raises the odds of a move the other way.
Sentiment History #
The net retail position (long minus short) over time, for comparing how the market mood shifts across symbols.
COT Summary #
Open positions of large traders from the weekly CFTC report: longs, shorts, net and the weekly change for each asset.
CFTC Net Position #
The smart-money net trend (Long − Short). A zero-line cross or a divergence from price is an important structural signal.
COT Long/Short Ratio #
Speculators’ long and short share of total positions — a quick read on how one-sided the market is.
COT History #
The long-term chart of COT positioning, for spotting accumulation and distribution cycles in each asset.
COT Signal #
An automatic signal built from defined thresholds on the COT data, with a bias reading for each asset.
Central Banks #
Current policy rates of the major central banks, the latest change and the date of the next meeting.
Interest Rate History #
Each central bank’s rate path over time — compare tightening and easing cycles.
News Feed #
The full market news stream with categories (Forex, Crypto, Stocks, Commodities) and search. Several categories can be filtered at once.
Community Chat #
Discussion rooms for members. Topics, replies, reactions, mentions and image attachments are available per your license plan; new-message notifications can be toggled with the bell.
Publications #
Your latest analysis and articles from the site blog, with thumbnail and summary. Filter by category and open any piece in a new tab from its title. The card title and which categories appear are set in the Publications admin.
Currency Strength — Fundamentals #
Currencies ranked by their published macro data. Each row shows the score of every category (inflation, growth, PMI, labor, consumer), the cumulative surprise of the latest releases and the final score, with the change since the previous hourly reading. Expand a row to see which indicators drove the number. The colour runs from green (strongest) to red (weakest).
Economic Indicators #
Every tracked indicator of one currency with its recent trend, the latest actual against forecast, and its trend and surprise scores. Filter by currency and by category.
Economic Surprise #
How far each currency’s latest releases landed from expectations. A positive bar means the data beat forecasts in the direction that favours the currency — note that a LOWER unemployment print is a positive surprise.
Currency Comparison #
Two currencies side by side across every macro category, with each side’s strongest drivers listed underneath — useful for picking the strong-versus-weak side of a pair.
Recommended Brokers #
Brokers we work with. Each tile shows the logo, how long the broker has been trading, a short description, the markets and platforms it supports and our rating out of five. Use the arrows or swipe to move through them; the name and the button open the broker in a new tab.
Our Trading Tools #
Our own trading tools and products. Tap any tile to open it in a new tab.
Central Banks News #
Policy statements and press releases published directly by the central banks — the Federal Reserve, ECB, Bank of England, Bank of Japan, Bank of Canada, RBA and SNB. This card is pinned to that source, so it never mixes with general market news. Sources are managed under Macrolyx → News.
Central Bank Rates #
The current policy rate of each major central bank, with the date and size of the last change and the scheduled date of the next decision.
Interest rate differentials are the strongest medium-term force in currency markets: money moves toward higher yields, and a widening gap between two policy rates tends to push their pair in that direction for months. Read the direction of travel rather than the level, though. Markets price expected changes in advance, so a currency whose central bank is expected to cut often weakens well before the cut arrives, and can rally on the day if the cut is smaller than feared. The dates matter as much as the rates: the sessions around a decision carry the widest ranges of any scheduled event, and positions held through one should be sized for that.
Glossary
What is COT? #
The Commitments of Traders report the CFTC publishes every Friday, showing the open futures positions of large traders (speculators and hedgers).
Net Position #
A trader group’s long contracts minus its short contracts. A positive net means the buyers dominate.
Sentiment #
How retail traders are positioned by direction. Unlike COT, which measures big money, sentiment reflects the retail crowd and is often read as a contrarian indicator.
Impact #
The expected market effect of a calendar event; high-impact (three-star) events produce the most volatility.
Forecast / Actual / Previous #
The analyst consensus, the value actually released, and the prior period’s value. The market mostly reacts to how far Actual lands from Forecast.
Hawkish / Dovish #
Hawkish: a central-bank lean toward tighter policy and higher rates (usually currency-positive). Dovish: a lean toward easier policy and lower rates.
DXY (Dollar Index) #
The value of the US dollar against a basket of major currencies — a quick gauge of overall dollar strength or weakness.
Bid/Ask Spread #
The gap between the best buy and sell prices. The mid price is their average and is used in performance calculations.
